Fall Conference Chair

 

Wow! What a fun event this year’s Joint Fall Conference was! I have to give kudos to so many folks for the success, but first I want to recognize the Beau Rivage, our host hotel. The staff there did such an excellent job making this a spectacular event! Thanks to Mike Davis, Peggy Harvin, and Jenifer Doby for taking the American theme and running with it!

 

Attendance was increased this year with over 240 attendees. There were 78 Association Executives and 86 exhibitors in attendance. That also leads me to thank all exhibitors and sponsors. Our conference would not be possible without them. Please refer to the list on LSAE’s website, www.LSAE.org. Be sure to refer to these groups when you are looking for services they provide. They support us, so be sure to support them every chance you get!!

 

I also want to thank our committee. We really pulled together to make sure that we had the support needed to provide a first class conference. And, we also must thank the work of the MSAE’s Conference Committee and staff.

 

I want to thank Shannon Kuetemeyer, our current president, as well. As is common, the president sits on all committees, she also served as a conference committee member; however, normally this role is more oversight and/or by name only. This certainly was not the case with Shannon. She was extremely involved and did a great job pushing our committee along. Thanks Shannon!

 

Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank our staff. As association executives, we know from our own experience that the real work comes from the staff. Keli Williams and Gina Theriot did such an outstanding job!! I want to thank them for their dedication and hard work. It was a pleasure working with them.

 

In closing, I would like to address members who did not make this year’s conference. You really missed a great one. The pictures tell the story better than I could. Please be sure to make plans to join us next time. It was a fun and worthwhile event. It is always rejuvenating and motivating for me to visit with people who understand what I do and can lend helpful tips on how I can be a better executive. It was nice to visit with old friends and make new ones, too. After all, it’s the American way!!!
