LSAE Annual Convention – Over the top!  Success was in the Stars!

Social Networking, Association Management 101, Team Building, Getting More time out of your day and so much more!  These topics and many more highlighted the LSAE Annual Convention at the Chateau Bourbon, a Wyndam Historic Hotel in New Orleans in January!  If you didn’t attend, you missed a great event.

The Reverse Expo, in which associate members visited association executives who had exhibits, was a BIG hit for the second year in a row!  It just keeps getting better and better.

The Welcome Reception was quite a hit with our surprise imposter guest “Cher.”   The hotel was transformed into a “Hollywood” Award show venue, with the red carpet and giant grammy awards framing the space.  Cher entertained us through the night, and we even had a Sonny Bono look alike who joined her for one song – the infamous “I got You Babe.”  The event was sprinkled with LSAE member movies stars such as Garth Brooks, Ozzie and Kelly Osborne, Angelina Jolie and even Amy Winehouse!  Thank  you to all who participated.

We had terrific networking at our Bloody Mary break as well as at our Progressive Dinner through the quarter.  The Steamboat Natchez served delicious hors d’oeuvres; the Court of Two Sisters treated us to wonderful turtle soup and salad; we then proceeded to the Bourbon Orleans which spoiled us with incredible surf and turf; and we ended our night at the Royal Sonesta for sweet treats that were delectable!    It was an incredible night – we certainly were treated like stars!

We should also tip our hats to the convention committee who spent endless hours planning the great event.  LSAE is very fortunate to have members that commit their time to committee work.  Their dedication, creativity and hard work helped to make this event the success it was! 

Grammy awards should be given to the host hotel – the Chateau Bourbon and their incredible staff.   Thank you to Christine Landry, Laurie Rosenbohm and Kristie Sanders who made us look outstanding.

The real work was done by our own superstars  - Gina Theriot and Keli Williams.  They were star-studded and they deserve grammy awards too for their hard work!  Thank you!

Last but certainly not least, our biggest stars were our sponsors!  We certainly could not have had this grand event without them!  Our top hats go off to them for their continuous support of LSAE.
